Summoners!
As recently outlined, the Preseason will involve an extensive gameplay update that we think will make League of Legends even better. To give you insight into the many changes you’ll be seeing, we’re holding a Reddit AMA this Friday, beginning at 11:30 AM Pacific Time. Join the designers behind the preseason changes as they answer your most burning questions about changes to items, masteries, the jungle, and more.

Along with the item and jungle changes coming this preseason, we’re also making some adjustments to summoner spells and masteries. These changes are aimed at opening up new builds and spell combos, so you can better customize your champion to suit your playstyle. FeralPony and Roku are here to explain more about the goals of the coming updates.
Read what FeralPony and Roku have to say about the new summoner spells and masteries, and leave your comments in the forums.

We’ve already revealed that we’re making a few changes to the jungle this preseason. Statikk is here to explain more about these updates and how they’ll increase jungler diversity, reduce the pressure on early game lanes, and give junglers more strategic options through all phases of the game.

Summoners,
We had some big aspirations for Season Two, but you blew us away with your incredible dedication and support.
Your enthusiasm and passion has helped legitimize eSports as something that’s every bit as entertaining and competitive as any traditional sport, and the world’s taking notice. Seriously. We’re more energized than ever for the future, and it’s all thanks to your outpouring of support – none of this would be possible without you.
It’s been almost a year since we last talked about how the League of Legends community has been growing. Last November, we released an infographic with some cool stats, and that proved to be pretty popular -- so we’re doing it again!
Check out the October 2012 infographic below. Since November of last year, 11 million monthly active players have become 32 million…and Teemo dies 324% more frequently!
We continue to be astounded and humbled by your support. Thank you, summoners.

Hey Summoners,
We wanted to give you an early heads-up that we’ll be making a few changes to those massive documents of legal jibber-jabber that you agree to when you play League of Legends – the Privacy Policy, Terms of Use (TOU) and End User License Agreement (EULA). The changes will be taking effect in the next patch (scheduled for October 9th), and today we’ll outline some of the key changes you can expect to see. It’s not a lot, but if you’re interested, read on (and of course, be sure to familiarize yourself with all the changes when the complete docs are posted):

With League of Legends fans setting viewership records in the Western world for the League of Legends Season One Championship, we're as excited as you are to kick Season Two off in style. As you've helped us become one of the most popular online titles to date, we thought it was only appropriate that League of Legends Season Two should boast the largest prize pool in eSports.
The League of Legends Season Two prize pool will feature a record setting $5 million prize pool!

Now that Season One is coming to a close, this is a great time to update you all on some amazing accomplishments that you have helped make possible.
The first time we discussed League of Legends’ growth was back in August of 2010. The number of players enjoying the game then was impressive, but since then our phenomenal rate of growth has increased.

Over the last couple of months we’ve been working on an action plan to drastically reduce the amount of service impacting issues affecting our European platform. We’re finally at a point that we can share our plans to bring more stability to Europe.
Presently, the PvP.net service in Europe is supporting hundreds of thousands summoners playing League of Legends at any given time – orders of magnitude bigger than what a typical massively multiplayer environment supports! And while we’re extremely excited by the enthusiasm and passion that you have all shown for the game, it has presented complications that we have been trying to resolve. Specifically, we want to reduce lengthy login queues at peak hours, eliminate our reliance on New York based overflow servers, and drastically reduce the number of unexpected server outages.
