or how do you counter him?

was playing olaf, i really had a hard time, tbh i know nothing about this champ, that made things worse of course.

can i get some insight on how to deal with him solo top 1 on 1?

Most of the champions.

Some example > Olaf, Warwick, Irelia, Vladimir, Swain, Rumble, Shen, Kennen.
With Olaf, just abuse the bushes. Should be simple enough.

Also, since he is very mana dependant melee champion. Get Wriggles. And he will have hard time getting you out of lane.
Just watch out for jungler+Malphites ultimate ganks.

Warwick maybe, Riven, Vladimir, Rumble... Malphite strenght is his AS slow, si basicly champs that doesnt rely on AS.

As I tend to play Malphite quite a bit in top > Warwick with equal skill level will outsustain/damage Malphite rather easily.

Aginst AD-only champions (Riven/GP/Wukong/Talon etc) he just needs to build armor and will outdamage you instead. So I wouldn't recommend Riven really.

Sustain or kiting ability is best

any AP-good-for-top-lane forces him to build MR, crippling his dmg
