RIOT! Changing E-mail, without verifikation!!!

How can you allow people to change E-mails without any verifikation!? It´s so easy to hack someone, and you can even change the E-mail linked to the account, without verifying it on the current E-mail. My friend just got hacked, and the hacker even changed the E-mail linked to the account, without him even being informed about it. How is that even possible?

on topic:
I do think that Riot should making the changing of email addresses via support only. That would stop a lot of account security breaches like this.
