Hey.
My name is Suttree and I believe that I have a lot better mechanics than most people on my elo. The reason I'm not higher elo is because I suck at making decisions, watching the minimap, teamplay and everything else. I like to run dominions to practice mechanics because quite frankly it's what I find entertaining with the game.
I understand that LoL can't be all about mechanix, and that it has to be a healthy mix of a lot of things. However, I find that this balance is very off, and growing more imbalanced all the time.
Let's say you're playing Ashe, who I like to play (In my opinion ranged autoattackers by default require by far the best mechanix to be effective). If the enemy Lee Sin comes to gank you, there's a battle of mechanix going on. I dodge his Q - he might ward-W and/or flash to get onto me. If he gets his E on me, I'll probably be dead. If he outplays me, he will get the kill. If he uses flash or W to get close to me but I flash or dodge his E, I can then kite him and maybe get the kill (situational of course, but yeah). Remember that the orbwalking-kiting thing, while easier on Ashe than on most, is pretty easy to **** up. The situation is exactly the same on Vayne or Caitlyn, although these have more mobility.
This is the most fun aspect on LoL in my opinion. But with all the clickon gapclosers and unavoidable casters on you, kiting is just getting dumbly impossible. Kiting while autoattacking and dodging skillshots is pretty hard. My favorite hero is Vayne because she is so good at it, however, it does require ****loads of mechanics to pull of.
Now it's impossible. It's not that Riot don't release champions with difficult mechanics at all (Zed, Syndra) - it's just that they seem to prefer the extremely easy champions that require no mechanical skills in themselves (Kha'Zix, Rengar, Diana).
Of course a lot of champions will be like this, but the problem is that there is way to little reward for mechanix. KhaZix requires no mechanix at all (except hitting an Ashe-Volley with the damage of a Darius-ult), but he is one of the most powerful champs I've ever seen. You can't dodge him, he can jump you like three times and he can stealth twice (which, by the way, WILL **** up your orbwalk and make it even easier for him. It's unavoidable as you can't know when he'll use it).
So, it's impossible for me to outplay a KhaZix or a Diana, because they don't need to hit skillshots to kill me, and they're able to pick me up from twice, maybe three times my range. So I can either stay so far away from them that I can't do anything, or I can die.
Teamfights are of course another matter. Here, if positioned correctly, I MIGHT not die this way. I say might because if my teammates can't provide a solid tankline and are not focused enough on defending me, I can against chose between doing nothing and dying. And most games, they won't. Not because they suck or anything, but because they are also playing jumpy, assasinating gapclosers. Look at this pretty average matchup:
Top: Jax - Irelia
Jungle: Rengar - Hecarim
Mid: Diana - Katarina
AD: Vayne - Ashe
Support: Taric - Leona
This is not uncommon: On both sides, all the top three players (as in map positioning) have the ability to jump you. You have to play so carefully that you can't actually hit anything. You can't 1v1 them because they're unkitable and can burst you down in the time you get of two autoattacks. If Ashes Leona initiates (very common) and Vaynes Taric uses his stun to shut down Kata ult (also very common), there's nothing left. Move close enough to attack, and you're very likely to be dead.
At the same time that you're nerfing all possible ad carry items, you're also buffing ad casters. So, now we are even weaker and there are even more people that can kill us if we try to, I don't know, do damage.
Keep in mind, 5v5 teamfights aren't the real issue I'm trying to adress, nor simply ad carries. My point is this:
Riot, please. If you're going to make something that has no mechanical challenge, then make it weaker than the ones that actually do have one. This way, mechanics will be more properly rewarded. If you hit two clutch skillshots, that should net you more damage than if you click on someone. And please, please, please, for the love of God, pleeeeeease stop making every champion have a gapclosers. Right now, if a champion doesn't have gapclosers it's just UP. You can't make new champs without them now cause if u make a champ without a gapcloser, it's going to be weaker than the ones you've made already (not including mages, supports and ads).
Look at the last 10 champs - Vi (2gapclosers), Nami (sup), Zed (2 gapclosers), Elise (1 gapcloser), Kha'Zix (not quite sure but atleast 34, oh, and stealth) Syndra (mage), Rengar (stealth, gapclosers), Diana (2 gapclosers), Zyra (mage), Jayce (gapcloser and speedbuff). Very few of these require any skill to hit or are potentially dodgeable.
I don't know what the solution would be. I'm just pointing out a problem that I've been discussing with my friends a lot and most of them agree.
